MB-1216-JC

The MB-1216-JC is the first of the Minnesota Brand line of heavy duty body grip traps and it's a whopper. This is the same Megabear trap that was developed and produced by John Caretti of Michigan for the past decade. We have worked with Mr. Caretti over the past two years to insure that his record of excellence is maintained in our shop. The Megabear has the strongest springs on the market and is the only body grip trap with full 3/8'' jaws and striker bars. We've installed our Minnesota Brand safety hooks that stay where you put them along with a tension adjustable trigger. The Megabear is extra heavy duty from top to bottom and assembled with 100% U.S.A. parts and components. Built in Minnesota by Rob Caven and crew. As with all large body grip traps we strongly encourage the use of a body grip safety gripper for personal safety. We have found the Sleepy Creek saftey fits best for this trap.

NEW - MB-160-AC

The MB-160-AC is the second of the Minnesota Brand line of heavy duty body traps. This trap was developed by Mike Anderson and John Caretti of Michigan. They tried to develop a design that increased lethality over existing body gripping traps and they've done it. Mike traps skunks like others trap muskrats and with these, he never has to worry about losing the valuable essence. The trapped skunks never know what hit them. The over-lapping jaw design combined with music wire (that's right music wire) springs turns off 'coons, fisher, marten, and yes-skunks like a light switch. The quick, humane dispatch prevents fur damage and preserves the set location. The MB-160-AC is extra heavy duty from top to bottom and assembled with U.S.A. made parts and components. Built in Minnesota by Rob Caven and crew. As with all MB body grip traps we strongly encourage the use of a body grip safety gripper for personal safety. Also available with a wooden flap trigger.

MB-450-FH

The newest member of the Minnesota Brand Trap family. The MB-450-FH is a #1 1/2 size trap but built to hold the meanest, nastiest coyote. Outside jaw spread is 5" and inside jaw spread 4 3/8". The 450 has 5/16 thick, smooth closed cast jaws. Features include a Paws-I-Trip Pan with night latched dog heavy levers, strong music wire springs, #2 American made chain, crunch proof swivels, and a 2 piece gusseted frame for strength and reliability.

MB-450-FOX

The MB-450-FOX version has all of the features of the 450-FH except lighter. 125 diameter American made music wire springs and 3 crunch proof swivels in the chain instead of two. The FOX version was built upon request from some of the nations top fox men. It is a #1 1/2 size trap but built to hold the meanest, nastiest coyote. Outside jaw spread is 5" and inside jaw spread 4 3/8". The 450 has 5/16 thick, smooth closed cast jaws. MB-550-RC (2-Coiled)

The 550-RC has an outside jaw spread of 5 1/2" and an inside jaw spread of 4 3/4". The cast jaw face is 3/8" thick and the offset is 3/16". We've installed a Paws-I-Trip pan system and night latch dog. Pan tension out of the box (un-waxed) on the two coiled version runs an average of 2.1 pounds which we have found to be a very good number for a multi species trap. Pan tension on the four coiled model runs an average of 3.1 pounds. Tested extensively over a three year period on coyote, bobcat, red fox, grey fox, and raccoon. This trap is fast and excellent results were obtained using it two coiled. We do not recommend using the 4-coiled version if grey fox is your target animal. The 550 is an excellent live market trap as well as the trap to use on a mixed species line. Small enough for fox and tough enough for the nastiest coyote...............................................................................If you are not planning on 4-coiling your MB-550-RC's we strongly recommend cutting the excess spring pins off leaving 1/2" protruding from the frame. We personally (along with many of our customers who have used the 550) prefer underalls to pan covers for this trap. The underalls increase the pan tension slightly resulting in full pad or foot catches and the number of snapped traps is reduced to near zero. We have obtained excellent results on grey fox with the 2-coiled 550 and underalls.
